Esri is the originator of GIS Day, the first of its kind took place in 1999. Ralph Nader is credited to be the founder of GIS Day.Read more about the history of GIS Day.

Sambus Geospatial has over the years supported the celebration of GIS Day by organizing seminars or partnering institutions. We sponsor various academic institutions to celebrate GIS Day.
